Tidbits from DBSPD open house

What an eventful, educational, and fun-filled day.  The school welcomed a great turnout for this Open House even though it was raining lightly and we all have to crowd in a bit during some of the performances.  Lots of great work by the boys were displayed and enjoyed by parents and friends and guests alike.

High grade after school bus arrangement

Some parents suggest to us that they prefer their high grade (G.5 and G.6) boys to take the after school bus alone without accompany person.

We had discussed with Head Teacher, Poon’s transportation and other parent subcommittees in the traffic committees meeting last week. The decision is that we will stick to our original arrangement that we request the parents to send one person to accompany the student if they want to take the after school bus.

The rationale is that: we have to guarantee the students’ safety either in the bus or in the street after getting off the school bus. If the student is alone in the bus, he may need to be taken care by other students’ relatives. Even we allocate a teacher or a nanny to each school bus; we still worry what if the family member has not yet arrived at the time when he gets off the bus. Mind you that the bus does not drop them at usual station the boys are familiar with.

So the final decision is still parents need to send a person to accompany the student when they want the after school bus service.

Thank you very much

Dr. Rocky Lam

Convenor of Traffic and School Bus Sub-committee DBSPTAL-PD

We all need to learn how to develop our children’s physical, mental, psychological, spiritual health and social well being to the full.

Details of the seminar are as follows: -

We are honored to have invited Ms. Annie Ho (Registered Clinical Psychologist)and Dr. May Miao (Specialist in Psychiatry) to be our guest speakers.
